About the Role
Our public sector client is seeking up to two (2) Intermediate IT Technical Business Analyst(s) for a 9.5-month full time contract, with the possibility of up to a 12-month extension. IT Technical Business Analyst(s) will be required on a full-time basis (7.25 hour work day, 36.25 hours/week), to work on the project: Digital Adoption Implementation Project.
The scope of the project is as follows: A pilot service called Productivity Technology Services (PTS), launched in mid-2023, has been very well received by users and program areas across the Client’s Enterprise areas. Digital enablement has shown significant successes in its mission of enhancing adoption of productivity and collaboration apps. To capitalize on this momentum, and using the outcomes and learnings from this pilot, the client is planning a project to formally transition PTS from a pilot to a permanent digital adoption service and team to better inform, engage, train, and support the Client’s users on Microsoft 365 apps and features.

Responsibilities will include:
• Evaluate current services and recommend gaps.
• Research and evaluate latest technology trends.
• Develop strategy documents and roadmaps.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and playbooks.
• Develop and monitor adoption metrics and analyze KPIs.
• Develop and implement community engagement plans.
• Establish mechanisms for collecting user feedback.
• Design and deliver user training programs.
• Develop and maintain documentation, user guides, and training materials to support end-users and IT staff in using and administering solutions.
• Provide support to both business and IT teams in identifying and addressing problems.
• Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams, facilitating clear communication.
• Review new service and technology requests by business areas and assess their impact on the operational environment, giving recommendations for remediation.
• Assist in creating mockups, wireframes, or process models to visualize solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on proof of concept and pilot rollouts.
• Work with stakeholders (business users, managers, etc.) to understand business processes, goals, and challenges.
• Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications that can be understood by IT teams.
• Collaborate with IT teams to design services and solutions that meet business needs.
• Ensure that the proposed solutions are feasible from both a business and technical perspective.
• Create documentation that explains the solution designs, architecture, and integrations.
• Ensure seamless integration of digital solutions with existing systems.
• Work alongside project managers to help define scope, milestones, and timelines.
• Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and estimates pertaining to architectural deployment and services delivery.
• Assist in developing task lists and resource assignments within the context of architectural planning and deployments.
• Make recommendations to project team members pertaining to issues, risks, and client satisfaction.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure that the system meets business requirements and functions properly.
• Provide quality control on production implementations.
• Develop and implement solutions both individually and as a member of the team.
• Ensure change management processes are followed.
• Provide tracking and reporting of time and status on all work as required.
Working Hours
Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays observed by the client, and will be expected to be on-call periodically. Work must be done from within Canada, due to network and data security issues.
The role will be primarily remote, however in the event of an onsite meeting, the Client/Handis Consulting Ltd. does not pay for travel to attend on-site meetings (on reasonable notice), nor any expenses related to time, relocation, travel, accommodations, or meals.
Notes on Location: This resource will primarily work remotely; however, the resource may be required to attend meetings or work sessions in office on reasonable notice from the Client. At the time of providing such notice, the Client will advise of the expected duration of any such meetings or work sessions.
Equipment
The IT Technical Business Analyst(s) shall be responsible for providing all their own equipment. The computer's operating system must be a modern version of Windows or MacOS that is compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and related software for remote access. Windows is preferred due to better compatibility. AVD/remote-related software will be installed on the resource's computer.
Requirements
Education
The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following:
• University graduation in business, management or a related discipline and four-year Project Coordinator experience; OR
• Two-year diploma in business, management or a related discipline and six-year Project Coordinator experience; OR
• One-year certificate in business, management or a related discipline and seven-year Project Coordinator experience; OR
• Eight-year Project Coordinator experience
Work Experience
3 years experience as a business analyst translating business requirements into detailed technical requirements in an enterprise IT environment
3 years experience as a project coordinator leading technical teams in multiple implementation and execution of information technology projects in an environment of similar size and complexity in an Enterprise environment
3 years experience defining project scope and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders
3 years experience in developing integrated system and technical design specifications on complex engagements
3 years experience in gathering requirements from a diverse group of stakeholders across ministries or departments
3 years proven experience as a Microsoft 365 specialist with deep expertise in its user-facing apps. Demonstrated ability to work closely with business area clients to build solutions that leverage Microsoft 365 to enhance productivity, collaboration, and business outcomes
3 years experience in analyzing process maps, descriptions, and data flow diagrams of complex business processes to understand records that are produced
3 years experience in the development of project documents for a wide variety of initiatives and projects (strategic, business improvement, information technology, etc.)
3 years experience with IT service management, IT service management applications, IT application development and maintenance projects
3 years experience working on projects with changing priorities, timelines, or requirements
3 years experience working within an agile development environment
Standard Security Clearance
The contractor shall, prior to commencement of the Services, provide the client, on its request and at no cost to the client/Handis Consulting Ltd., with a current criminal record check.

Three references, for whom similar work has been performed, must be provided. The most recent reference should be listed first. Reference checks may or may not be completed to assist with scoring of the proposed resource by the client.
